It remains silent.
I ask my career, 'What do you want of me?'
It answers back, 'to do your best for the least amount of return.'
I ask my children, 'What do you want of me?'
They answer back, 'To be loved to the end of the universe and back.'
I ask myself, 'What do you want of me?'
I answer back, 'To just be.'
